Senior actress
Sushmita Mukherjee, who is currently seen playing the title role in the TV show Meri Saas Bhoot Hai, has been shooting sitting on a wheelchair. Apparently, the actress met with an accident on the sets on December 23 and injured her knees. She had to undergo a surgery for it. She resumed shooting on January 18, but since she is not able to stand, the actress has been using a wheelchair.
The writers have made the necessary changes to the script.
Sushmita says, "I was shooting on the set on the outskirts of Mumbai on December 23 when this unfortunate incident happened. Since the set is located far away, the floor was a bit uneven and when I finished my shot, I just turned around and fell. I am not sure if my sari got into the wires lying on the floor or I lost my balance, but I fell so terribly that I could feel the crack in my knees. I was immediately rushed to the hospital and had to undergo surgery. I rested for two weeks and resumed after that because I felt it was unfair to rest any longer, and the production also agreed to let me shoot in a wheelchair. I am so thankful to the writers that they introduced me sitting on a wheelchair and since then my character is shown moving around in the show on this wheelchair. Hopefully, I will recover soon and will not be seen on the wheelchair in the future episodes."
Sushmita adds, "I am thankful to the production house. Since I was seriously hurt, I thought they would replace my character. But, I am happy we continued to work together."
