Trolling Anjum Fakih for offering prayers to Lord Shiva on Mahashivratri is sheer intolerance
NEW DELHI. Actress Anjum Fakih, famous for essaying the role of Srishty in the popular television show Kundali Bhagya, is being mercilessly trolled for posting a picture on her Instagram account wishing everyone on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
On her Instagram account, Fakih posted two photos of her offering prayers to Lord Shiva and a short poem she wrote invoking Lord Shiva.
The post's caption said, "Happy Mahashivratri everyone. Likhne ki gustaakhi ki hai. Inspired by Badshaah's song 'Bolo har har' from the movie Shivaay," along with #mahashivratri2019 and #harharmahadev.

This was enough to provoke intolerant trolls to target her. Because, intolerance!
Here is how Fakih was targeted for her post wishing everyone on Mahashivratri:
Troll One.

Troll Two.

Troll Three

Islamic fundamentalists flooded the comments under Fakih's post. These shameless minds have only one issue - that Fakih, being a Muslim, offered prayers to Lord Shiva, a Hindu god.
These communal fanatics are blinded by hatred so much that they cannot digest the fact that there are millions of Indians, practicing different religions and many practicing none, who adhere to a basic trait the Constitution of India requires them to - being secular.

Which god to pray to is Fakih's choice. These trolls have no right to question her belief in Islam and they are no authority to issue certificates of religious identity.
These trolls, the same fundamentalists, who have nothing else to do in life but to point finger at others, trolled Fakih last year during Ramzan for posting a picture wearing revealing clothes. It was her clothes these low-lifes targeted then, it is a god now. It is their hatred to other religions that let these trolls not see how beautiful a gesture it is from Fakih's side to wish everyone who's celebrating Mahashivratri.
Mindless trolls cannot possibly understand that audiences adore Fakih for her work and not for the religion she practices. India is a secular country where people from all religions celebrate most festivals in unity and harmony. Such bigots, with their hatred, cannot destroy that quality in Indians.
Hours after she was brutally trolled last year during Ramzan, Fakih had posted a message on Instagram that said, "Do you know what is better than charity and fasting and prayer? It is keeping peace and good relations between people, as quarrels and bad feelings destroy mankind."
We hope she sends out a stronger message this time around to all those who are trying to tuition her on what she must and must not do!
