On December 2, Sunil Pal went missing, shocking his family, friends, and well-wishers. The comedian was summoned to Meerut under the guise of an event and later kidnapped. He was held captive for about 24 hours before being released after paying a ransom of Rs 8 lakh. Meerut police are on the lookout for the culprits and have even proclaimed a cash reward.
Meerut Police officials stated on Tuesday (December 17) that each of the five absconding kidnappers would receive Rs 25,000 in cash. Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada informed PTI that the absconders are Lavi Pal alias Sushant alias Himanshu, Akash alias Gola alias Deependra, Shiva, Ankit alias Pahadi, and Shubham.
According to Vipin Tada, all five have been proclaimed wanted, and police raids are ongoing to locate and apprehend the suspects. Tada further stated that Arjun Karnwal was previously arrested by Meerut police after an encounter in connection with the case.
Sunil Pal was abducted on December 2, and his wife Sarita filed a zero FIR in Mumbai, which was then moved to the Lal Kurti police station in Meerut, where the local police launched an inquiry into the allegations.
Sunil Pal stated that he contacted a buddy to obtain the ransom money to provide to the kidnappers. Sunil stated that after receiving the ransom, the kidnappers gave him Rs 20,000 to fly to Mumbai.
Following Sunil Pal, Bollywood star Mushtaq Khan was kidnapped and held prisoner in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor area. According to accounts, the senior artist was kidnapped on the Delhi-Meerut highway and tortured for twelve hours. According to authorities, the miscreants also planned to kidnap renowned actor Shakti Kapoor under the guise of inviting him to an event.
