Popular serial Mayamruga to have rerun on television?
Popular Kannada serial Mayamruga is likely to be re-aired on television. Director T N Seeetharam, on his Facebook page, had posted that Mayamruga may have a rerun from the first episode, if people are ready to watch again. Mayamruga was jointly directed by T N Seetharam, P Sheshadri and Nagendra Sha.
T N Seetharam last directed the serial Magalu Janaki, which ended abruptly as the channel was shut due to financial loss.
Mayamruga originally aired in 1998. It was re-aired in 2014. So, if the show is re-aired it will be for the third time that viewers will watch the serial. The serial is about two middle-class girls who aspire to change society and balance their personal lives. A girl called Malavika fights for women's equality. She finds the right match in Krishna Prasad who happens to be her teacher and despite opposition from her family members, she marries him. On the other hand, Sri Laksmi gets an offer in the modelling field and her father opposes her decision to pursue a career in modelling.
The serial has Dattatreya as Shastri, Avniash, Jayashree, Rekha, Natana Rajesh, Manju Bhasini, Malavika Avinash, Seethuram, Mukyamanri Chandru, Vaishali Kasravalli and M D Pallavi in lead roles. The project marked the debut of singer M D Pallavi on the small screen as a specially-abled girl. Director T N Seetharam also played the role of an advocate.
