Malayalam actor Sreejith Vijay, who made waves with his role as Pappu in the remake of the cult classic 'Rathinirvedam,' recently shared his excitement about the film's re-release in Andhra Pradesh.
In a candid conversation with ETimes TV, Sreejith opened up about the enduring impact of the movie and the indelible mark his character Pappu has left on the audience.

"I was so excited. That subject will stay eternal. Even when I am gone, this movie will be talked about. When I came to know that the movie is getting re-released, the memories from our initial release rushed into my mind," Sreejith expressed, his enthusiasm evident.

Describing the unforgettable experience of watching the film with the audience during the first release, he shared, "Both I and Shwetha watched it with the audience, and they even held me on their shoulders during the celebration. I wished to travel to Andhra and witness how this generation would take the movie."
Post the re-release, Sreejith found himself inundated with messages from viewers expressing a desire to see the movie in Malayalam and even suggesting the possibility of a sequel. This reaffirmed the enduring popularity and impact of 'Rathinirvedam' on the audience.
Reflecting on his iconic character, Pappu, Sreejith acknowledged its everlasting presence in the minds of Malayali viewers. "No matter how many characters I have played after Pappu, people still love me for that role. No other character could match the impact that it had on me," he remarked.
Despite his success in subsequent roles, Sreejith admitted that looking back, he feels he could have portrayed Pappu even better now. "During filming, I was a beginner who was anxious about being on set with the ace director, big banner, and the superstar actress," he added.
