Karthika Deepam written update, June 9, 2018: Karthik suspects Mounitha

In the latest episode of Karthika Deepam, Deepa tells Karthik that Malathi sensed an odd smell in the kitchen before she took the saffron-mixed milk for Shravya. She adds that Malathi will recognize the odour anytime later. Deepa is determined to prove her innocence. Soundarya and Mounitha overhear this conversation. While Mounitha takes a cue and rectifies her mistake, Soundarya gets confused puzzled by Deepa’s version.
She shares the same with Anand Rao (her husband).She says that Deepa might not be responsible for Shravya’s miscarriage. At the same time, she wonders who can be the possible culprit! Shravya who eavesdrops at this conversation is baffled by the change in Soundarya.
In a desperate move, Shravya removes all the photographs of Soundarya pasted on the walls of their room, thereby grabbing everyone’s attention. When questioned about her intention behind this act, Shravya tries mudslinging upon Deepa.
Deepa drinks the mix of saffron and milk front of the family, thereby proving that she is innocent in Shravya’s miscarriage episode. However, Shravya refuses to believe Deepa and drop her allegations.
Meanwhile, Karthik ponders over the possibilities of Shravya’s role behind her miscarriage. Karthik knows that Shravya reluctantly married Adithya (his younger brother). He reminisces instances in the past (where Shravya proposed her love to him and promised to give her baby in adoption to him). He summons the entire family including Mounitha. He reveals that his investigation into the miscarriage episode concludes that it is a part of someone’s conspiracy. He declares that someone used Deepa as a scapegoat for their ploy. Mounitha panics as Karthik issues a warning.
Soundarya is lost in thoughts about Karthik’s words. She believes Deepa is innocent and someone has targetted Shravya. Mounitha tries to know what Soundarya is thinking. Soundarya shares her thoughts. Mounitha is afraid that the attention is being diverted onto her.
In the meantime, Bhagyalakshmi (Shravya’s mother) enters the house to question Deepa. Soundarya cautions Mounitha and indirectly Bhagyalakshmi to stay out of this.
