Morbi Bridge collapse: SIT report reveals several lapses

The SIT report on the Morbi bridge collapse in its report highlighted many lapses and omissions on behalf of multiple stakeholders that led to no corrective action being taken to improve the condition of the century-old structure. The SIT noted that Oreva outsourced the bridge’s repair work to a non-competent agency, which carried it out without consulting competent technical experts or testing the main cable and vertical suspenders. 135 people were killed in the Morbi Bridge collapse on October 30.
