Without sharing details about his father's hospitalization, his son Adinath Mangeshkar has said that his father is 'doing well.' While addressing the gathering at the inaugural Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award, he stated that the 84-year-old musician, younger brother of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, will be discharged within ten days. While expressing his sadness over his father being unavailable to give the welcome speech, Adinath said, 'All these years, it was my father, Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar Ji, who would deliver the welcome address, and give information about our trust. This year he's unable to do so because he's in the hospital currently. By the grace of God, he will be back home in the next 8-10 days. He is stable and doing well.' Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is the first recipient of the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar, was also present at the event and wished Hridaynath Mangeshkar a speedy recovery at the start of his address. Hridaynath Mangeshkar is one of the most renowned music composers and vocalists in India. With a career spanning over six decades, he is best known for his immense contribution to Hindi and Marathi cinema. His most memorable compositions include ‘Yeh Aankhen Dekha Ka’ from the film Dhanwan', ‘Yaara Seeli Seeli’ and 'Suramaee Shaam Is Tarah Aaye' from the film 'Lekin', and many others. It was him only, who lit the funeral pyre of the singing legend Lata Mangeshkar, who died at 92, on the morning of February 6th after more than 28 days of hospitalization post contracting the COVID-19 and battling pneumonia and several other age-related issues. In a career spanning over seven decades, the melody queen recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films and over 36 regional Indian and foreign languages.
