Explosions ROCK Southern ISRAEL; Sderot Bombed As Hamas-Allied Fighters Launch Back-to-Back Missiles

Palestinian fighters launched two rocket attacks on Israel from the Gaza strip Monday. Sirens sounded in Sderot and nearby settlements along the Gaza border on Monday evening as Israeli air defenses successfully intercepted three rockets launched by Palestinian islamic Jihad. These two rocket attacks marked the third instance of rocket launches from Gaza into Israel since the military resumed its offensive against Hamas last week. Earlier in the week, Hamas launched three long-range rockets at central Israel on Thursday, followed by two rockets fired at the southern city of Ashkelon on Friday.
