Kim Soo Hyun, the South Korean actor, had a public press conference on Monday, to address the accusations of dating Kim Sae Ron when she was underage, leading to ‘grooming.’ While the claims regarding Kim Sae Ron were discussed, the public was disappointed with no mention of his co-star, the late Sulli, and her explicit scenes in the film, ‘Real.’
According to Koreaboo, the late actress's family has been vocal about the distress over the scenes. In an interview, Sulli’s brother, Choi, revealed that the family wasn’t surprised by Kim Soo Hyun’s lack of action; in fact, the gestures were quite predictable. “Kim Soo Hyun’s press conference was so predictable that it wasn’t even surprising. We watched it expressionlessly,” he stated.
Additionally, Choi voiced out about the criticism Sulli has been getting for her scenes in ‘Real,’ due to the controversies surrounding Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron. “Due to the controversy surrounding the late Kim Sae Ron, the media became noisy. Many posts seemed to refer to my sister’s situation, which caused us stress,” he revealed.
Sulli was supposed to be given a body double for the explicit scenes in the film, however, the absence of the body double led to her doing the scenes on her own. While she did face harsh comments, Choi expressed that Kim Soo Hyun or the film cannot be held responsible for Sulli’s demise. “It cannot be definitively said that it was solely because of Real or Kim Soo-hyun. It is a well-known fact that she suffered from malicious comments after the movie was released. There were also personal aspects to her struggles,” he mentioned.
According to Koreaboo, a former staff member of alleged that the explicit scenes were added after the directorial change in the film. Previously, Lee Jung Sub was controlling the strings; however, after the change Kim Soo Hyun’s cousin Lee Sa Rang became the director and added Sulli’s explicit scenes.
