From Mercury to Neptune: A rare planetary parade will be visible after sunset this February 28

Stargazers across the United States and beyond are in for a rare astronomical treat this Friday (February 28) as all seven planets in our solar system will align in what is known as a "planetary parade." This spectacular event will see Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune appearing together in an arc across the evening sky, according to NASA.
The best time to catch this rare alignment from the Northern Hemisphere will be just after sunset, around 8:30 p.m. local time. While Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, and Saturn will be visible to the naked eye, observers will need a telescope or high-powered binoculars to spot Neptune and Uranus.
Venus, Mercury, Saturn, and Neptune will begin dipping below the horizon by around 11:30 p.m. to midnight, depending on the location. Meanwhile, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus will remain visible for a few more hours, with Mars finally setting just before sunrise.
