Ramadan 2025: Significance of Ramzan

One of the five pillars of Islam is fasting, which involves refraining from eating, drinking, smoking, harboring wicked thoughts or deeds, and engaging in marital relations from sunrise to sunset.
Muslims spend more time praying and reading the Quran during this month, which is a time for introspection and spiritual development. Many mosques also provide extra services during Ramadan, such as Taraweeh prayers, which are special nightly prayers that are longer than the regular daily prayers. Ramadan remains a time of spiritual reflection, devotion, and unity for Muslims worldwide. This year’s synchronized moon sighting serves as a reminder of the shared faith and global connection that Ramadan fosters among the Muslim community.
