Ramadan 2025 First Roza Date: Saudi Arabia to observe fast on March 1, 2025

The crescent moon is the sign that marks the beginning of Ramadan (1446 AH), and Muslims in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United Kingdom (UK), the United States of America (US), Australia, and other Islamic and Western nations witnessed the crescent moon on, February 28, which marked the beginning of Ramazan month and the fast will be observed next day, March 01, 2025.
The Ramadan moon was supposed to be visible to Muslims in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the Philippines, and other countries on February 28. However, the crescent was not visible after sunset on February 28, which was the 29th day of Sha'ban 1446 Hijri. So, the first fast will be observed on March 02, 2025.
One of the five pillars of Islam is fasting, which involves refraining from eating, drinking, smoking, harboring wicked thoughts or deeds, and engaging in marital relations from sunrise to sunset.
Muslims spend more time praying and reading the Quran during this month, which is a time for introspection and spiritual development. Many mosques also provide extra services during Ramadan, such as Taraweeh prayers, which are special nightly prayers that are longer than the regular daily prayers. The Jama Masjid and Shahi Imam of Lucknow declared that the holy day of fasting, Roza, would be observed in India starting on Sunday, March 2.

Depending on whether the crescent moon is visible, Ramadan in India will start on Sunday, March 2, and end on either March 30 or March 31.
