TIRUPATI: TDP legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy created a record of sorts when he laid the foundation stone for 105 development works within a single day at the Nellore rural assembly constituency on Sunday.
The foundation stone laying spree which began at 6 am went on till 10.30 pm on Sunday, as the TDP legislator and his brother Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy juggled from one place to another throughout Sunday.
Speaking to reporters, Kotamreddy stated that the TDP led NDA govt after coming to power in the state had earmarked a sum of Rs.191 cr towards executing various development works at Nellore rural assembly constituency alone. The state govt will also be spending for establishing two flyovers by spending Rs.75 cr.
“In addition to the development works for which foundation stones were laid on Sunday, foundation stones for another set of 198 development works will be laid next week”, Nellore rural MLA added.
Clarifying to reporters that the record number of foundation stone laying ceremonies were not a mere publicity stunt, Kotamreddy vowed that all the 303 odd development works for which the foundation stones were being laid will be completed in a time bound manner by May 20th without any delay further.
Meanwhile, several TDP ministers appreciated the efforts of Kotamreddy in trying to bring about significant development to the Nellore rural assembly constituency and noted that this was the highest number of foundation stones laid by a sitting MLA within a single day not only in the history of the Nellore district but in the history of Andhra Pradesh as well.
