Haryana Board Exams: Eight arrested for malpractice in Sonipat district

Police arrested eight individuals for attempting to interfere with ongoing Haryana Board exams at Sonipat district's Baroda and Anwali exam centers. These arrests were part of heightened security measures to prevent cheating. Officials, including the deputy commissioner, inspected multiple centers to maintain the integrity of the examinations.

JIND: After statewide criticism from opposition parties and all around backlash regarding cheating incidents in Haryana board ongoing exams, strict measures were observed at all exam centers in the state on Monday to ensure the Haryana Board of Education exams were conducted without any malpractice.
Police arrested eight people for external interference at the Baroda and Anwali exam centers in Gohana of Sonipat district and cases were registered against them, said officials.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Dr Manoj Kumar, along with all the SDMs and administrative officials, conducted inspections at the exam centers.
On Monday, the Haryana Board of Education conducted the 10th-class English paper. The exams were held at 70 centers in the Sonipat district, with tight security. After receiving information about external interference at the Baroda exam center, DCP Gohana Ravinder Tomar arrived at the scene and arrested six youths.
These included Praveen, Savin, Harish from Ishapur Kheri village, Raunak from Butana village, Amit from Ram Colony, and Anshul from Baroda. ASI Vinod Kumar stated that these youths were attempting to scale the wall to throw cheat sheets into the exam center and were arrested, with a case registered against them.
At the government senior secondary school in village Anwali, another two youths were arrested while attempting to climb the wall outside the exam center. They identified themselves as Ajay and Ravi from Anwali village. The Gohana police registered a case against them and have started an investigation, said police officials.
