New Delhi: A Delhi court on Wednesday granted an extension of 11 days for completing the investigation against two accused in a case filed under MCOCA. The case is linked to an organised crime syndicate allegedly run by Kapil Sangwan. Former MLA Naresh Balyan is also an accused in this case.
Meanwhile, the court of special judge Jitendra Singh extended the judicial custody of Balyan and other accused until the next date of hearing, May 5.
Earlier, the investigation officer of the case and the special public prosecutor appeared before the court and sought an extension of 30 days to complete the investigation against Sahil and Vijay Gahlaut. The 90-day period to complete the investigation in the case expired on Wednesday. The officer said that some accused individuals should be confronted with other accused individuals. Some financial documents and property documents are to be collected, the officer added.
On March 1, the court granted 60 more days to Delhi Police to complete the investigation against Balyan, who was arrested on Dec 4, 2024, in this case. On Jan 15, the court denied bail to Balyan.
