Gorakhpur, Ayodhya get new SSPs

Lucknow: Govt transferred 14 IPS officers, including SSPs of Gorakhpur and Ayodhya, on Monday.Raj Karan Nayyar, who was posted as SSP, Ayodhya, is new SSP Gorakhpur. Gaurav Grover, who was posted as SSP Gorakhpur, is new SSP Ayodhya.Nayyar, a 2012-batch IPS officer, was appointed SSP Ayodhya in June 2023 and played a key role in overseeing the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla in Jan 2024, along with other critical security deployments in the temple town. Among other changes, DIG Vaibhav Krishna, who recently led police arrangements during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, has been appointed as DIG Varanasi range. Mohit Gupta, IG Varanasi Range, has been secretary (home), UP.DIG Saharanpur range, Ajay Kumar Sahni, has been shifted in the same capacity to Bareilly range. SSP Muzaffarnagar, Abhishek Singh, has been promoted and posted as DIG Saharanpur range. Sanjay Kumar, who was posted as SSP Etawah, is new SSP Muzaffarnagar. SP Kaushambi, Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, has been made SSP Etawah, while DCP Ghaziabad, Rajesh Kumar, is new SP Kaushambi.Anup Kumar Singh, commandant of the 35th PAC Battalion, is new SP Fatehpur. Dhawal Jaiswal, the outgoing SP Fatehpur, has been made DCP Ghaziabad.SP Sant Kabir Nagar, Satyajeet Gupta, has been transferred to Kanpur commissionerate as DCP. Sandeep Kumar Meena, SP GRP Gorakhpur, will take over as SP Sant Kabir Nagar.In another key posting, Laxmi Niwas Mishra, who was SP in the Anti-Corruption Organization at the Lucknow headquarters, has been made SP GRP, Gorakhpur.In a significant move, ADG UP 112 Neera Rawat who was also holding the charge of ADG Administration was relieved of charge of Administration which was handed over to IG Lucknow Range Prashant Kumar. Kumar recently got promoted to the post of ADG. IG, Security, Upendra Agarwal has been made IG lucknow range.
