Tribal boys outshine girls, Hemalkasa’s Lok Biradari College scores 100% result

Nagpur: Tribal boys outshone girls at Lok Biradari Junior College in Hemalkasa, Gadchiroli district, in the HSC results. The college achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate. Founded by Baba Amte, the institution continues to uplift the Madia Gond tribal community through education. A total of 47 tribal students appeared for the HSC exam this year.
Vedant Duga led the institution with an impressive 80.67%, followed closely by Runal Atram (78.33%) and Ravindra Sadmek (75.50%). Among the girls, Chhakuli Sainu Gawade topped with 73.67%, followed by Vimal Talande (72.83%) and Saniya Dudhakokar (69.67%). The principal credited social worker Devaji Tofa from Lekha Menda in Dhanora taluka for guiding and encouraging students to enrol at Lok Biradari Junior College, fostering their academic aspirations.
"Vedant is quiet and calm but incredibly hardworking," the principal of the college said. "He lost his father a few years ago, and the family is facing financial hardships. Yet, his ambition to become an IAS officer drives him to prepare rigorously for competitive exams," he added.
The principal highlighted the institution's focused efforts in the three months leading up to the exams, including mock tests and personalised attention for each student. "The students displayed immense zeal to excel, matched by the teachers' relentless dedication," the principal added.
Located in the remote forests of Hemalkasa, Lok Biradari Junior College serves as a beacon of hope for tribal students, many of whom are first-generation learners. The college is currently managed by Dr Prakash and Dr Mandakini Amte, along with their children Dr Digant and Aniket.
The institution's holistic approach, combining education with community support, has empowered students to overcome socio-economic barriers. Teachers worked tirelessly, conducting extra classes and counselling sessions to boost confidence. The Amte family's vision continues to inspire, with Aniket Amte actively involved in educational initiatives like "Education at Your Doorstep." This stellar performance underscores the college's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering dreams in one of India's most underserved regions.
