Gorakhpur: The annual three-day Urs-e-Pak of Hazrat Mubarak Khan Shaheed Rehmatullah Alaih began on Friday at the central dargah in Narml,
Gorakhpur. The first day featured a Jalsa-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi and Dastarbandi ceremony, where guests honored students who completed their Quran memorization by adorning them with turbans, garlands, gifts, and prayers.
The event continued with the ritual ghusl (cleansing) of the mazar sharif and sandalposhi. Devotees offered Durood-o-Salaam and prayed for peace, love, and harmony in the country and across the world.
Keynote speaker Mufti Sultan Raza from Siwan (Bihar) highlighted the importance of love over hatred, stating, "Love builds society, hatred destroys it. Islam's message is one of peace, unity, and compassion." He urged the youth to use social media responsibly and emphasized that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are the path to global peace.
Presiding over the gathering, Mufti Munawwar Raza called upon the community to gain knowledge, avoid evil, support those in distress, and strictly follow Islamic obligations to brighten their future.
Conducting the event, Qari Afzal Barkati reminded the audience that no prophet will come after Prophet Muhammad and believing otherwise goes against Islamic faith. The URS celebrations are expected to continue over the next two days with various religious and spiritual activities. tnn
