Saturday Night Live featured
Ariana Grande as a host recently. But, there was one of those outstanding moments when she herself did something so silly on being a one-of-a kind character named "Antonio." This sketch was taken at her boyfriend, Ethan Slater's, expense. Little Antonio has got its first enemy. Here's how Slater reacted to the funny sketch.
In the sketch, Ariana played Antonio, a young boy castrated to preserve his high voice to astound a prince through singing. The sketch also featured guest roles from
Maya Rudolph and
Andy Samberg as concerned parents of Antonio. Ariana brought much laughter to her skit, and it fast became one of the favorite skits of the night.
Ariana's good friend, actress
Elizabeth Gillies, was backstage at the live show, and she shared some funny behind-the-scenes moments. She posted pictures and videos from the night, including a clip of Ariana as "Little Antonio." She captioned the posts of her performance to congratulate her friend on yet another great night hosting 'SNL', saying: "Congratulations on another incredible SNL, my Dingus. And Little Antonio—what words am I even allowed to use?.
Ethan Slater, who had come to see Ariana as well, couldn't resist chiming in on the post with his own humorous comment. He wished her "Live, Laugh, Little Antonio" and praised Ariana's hilarious performance. Ethan, as the star of 'SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical', appeared to be enjoying the sketch and was getting into the excitement of the evening.
The official after-party for the evening, located at L'Avenue at Saks in New York City was the perfect place for Ariana and Ethan to circulate over, where, obviously, they left together. The teeny-teen power couple, who have made headlines since hitting it off, seemed to have had a good time with friends and fellow cast members in celebrating the success of the episode.
The guest appearance of Ariana on 'SNL' was great and full of hilarious and comical episodes, but the "Antonio" sketch was what I think was the real comedic pearl for me. With the help of her friends like Elizabeth and her boyfriend Ethan, it appears that Ariana had so much love and encouragement given to her as she hosted again for 'SNL'.
