During host Conan O’Brien’s opening monologue, he took a moment to emphasize the importance of dressing appropriately for Hollywood’s biggest night. That’s when the cameras panned to Adam Sandler, casually seated among the audience in a bright blue hoodie, gym shorts, and sneakers, looking as relaxed as ever.

“For such an event, it is important that everyone is properly dressed,” Conan quipped, before turning to Sandler and asking, “Adam, what are you wearing?”
Sandler, unfazed, responded, “Nobody even thought of what I was wearing, you just brought it out!” His quick-witted response drew laughs from the audience, but Conan wasn’t done yet. “You are dressed like a guy who plays video poker at 2 AM, Adam,” he joked.

Not one to back down, Sandler shot back, “You know what, I like the way I look because I am a good person. I don’t care about what I wear or what I don’t wear. My snazzy gym shorts and fluffy sweatshirt—thank you so much that you had to mock me in front of the audience.”
With the entire theatre erupting in laughter, Sandler playfully exited, blaming Conan for his departure. Before leaving, he made his way to Timothée Chalamet, embracing him while excitedly shouting, “Chalameeeeee!” He then invited the audience to join him in a game of 5-on-5 basketball, cementing his reputation as Hollywood’s ultimate laid-back comedian.
