During her headline performance on the second weekend of Coachella 2025, Lady Gaga faced a minor technical issue. The 39-year-old singer's headset microphone abruptly stopped working while she was performing 'Abracadabra,' the second song in her set at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Mic issues during 'Abracadabra'
Fans shared videos of the audio cutout on social media. Gaga, however, maintained her composure and handled it expertly. She picked up a handheld microphone without hesitation and carried on with her performance. Her powerful vocals filled the venue as she confidently walked across the stage, holding the microphone in one hand and her trademark cane in the other. She later came back with a new headset microphone and carried on the performance with ease.
Later in her set, while sitting at her piano, Gaga addressed the technical issue with humor. Laughing, she told the crowd, “I’m sorry my mic was broken for a second. At least you know I sing live." She then added with a heartfelt touch, “I guess all we can do is our best, and I’m certainly giving you my best tonight."
Return to Coachella
One of the main highlights of Coachella's second weekend was Lady Gaga's performance. After eight years, it was her first time attending the festival. She last performed at Coachella in 2017, taking Beyoncé's place. Her 2025 setlist was a mix of classic hits like 'Judas' and 'Poker Face,' along with new songs from her recently released album 'Mayhem.' She performed the lead single 'Disease,' 'How Bad Do U Want Me?' and 'Abracadabra,' which was the song affected by the mic glitch. 'Mayhem' was released just last month.
Lady Gaga's Upcoming Tour
Gaga is preparing for her 'Mayhem Ball' tour following Coachella. On July 16th, the tour will kick off at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena. After spending the summer in major North American cities, it will travel to Europe in September.
