Varun Dhawan made a funny mix-up even more hilarious. Fans mistakenly confused him with cricketer Varun Chakravarthy, so the 37-year-old actor took the joke further by editing his face onto the cricketer’s photo.

He captioned the post, "Since the internet is having fun I decided to join in. All the best to the boys in blue and the other VARUN to shine bright on Sunday let’s go."
He shared a video of Chakravarthy dismissing Will Young during India’s group-stage clash against New Zealand in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

As soon as he shared the post, likes and comments poured in from all sides. While one fan wrote, 'So proud of you can't wait for u to take more wickets Sunday', another one added, 'Varun bhai Final me 5 se jyada wicket lena'. A fan also commented, 'Varun dha one mystery baller'.
The confusion began when Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Australian batsman Travis Head during India’s semifinal match against Australia on Tuesday in Dubai.

The next day, Varun Dhawan shared shirtless pictures on Instagram, showing off his toned abs with the caption, “Training season. Training with injuries.” While many praised his fitness, some jokingly continued to congratulate him for dismissing Travis Head.
Joining the fun, Varun Chakravarthy added to the joke by commenting, “Well bowled bhaiya,” with a folded hands and smiley emoji. His playful response made the mix-up even more hilarious, leaving fans excited over the unexpected crossover.
