What is ‘Ottakkomban’ about?‘Ottakkomban is inspired by the life of Kaduvakkunnel Kuruvachan, a powerful figure from the Meenachil taluk known for his influence across business, social, spiritual, political, and cultural spheres. According to the reports, the character of Kuruvachan has been adapted to reflect contemporary sensibilities and changes in modern times.
Prithviraj’s ‘Kaduva’Earlier, Prithviraj Sukumaran was featured in the same role in the actioner ‘Kaduva.’ Due to some legal issues, the name of Prithviraj Sukumaran in the action flick was changed to Kaduvakkunnel Kuriyachan. Reportedly, this change was mandated by the Censor Board following a petition filed by Jose Kuruvinakkunnel, who alleged that the film was based on his life and could tarnish his and his family’s reputation. Although the name was altered for the primary Indian release, Jose later submitted another petition, asserting that the original name continued to appear in certain international versions.
