'VD14' is expected to be set against the backdrop of British colonial India, specifically between 1854 and 1878, promising to explore a lesser-known chapter of India's history through an action-packed period drama.
The film’s tagline, "The Legend of the Cursed Land," hints at a story filled with revolution, and the fight for justice during turbulent times. This ambitious project marks the third collaboration between Vijay and the production house, following hits like 'Dear Comrade' and 'Kushi', and reunites him with Rahul Sankrityan after their successful film 'Taxiwala'.
Upon the film's first poster release, there were rumours that Vijay would be co-starring with
Rashmika Mandanna, who is also rumoured to be in a relationship. However, official announcements have been made regarding the pair to be seen on the big screens again.
Speaking of Vijay's upcoming projects, he will be seen in the spy action thriller, 'Kingdom', releasing on May 30th. The film is directed by 'Jersey' fame Gowtham Tinnanuri and also stars Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev in key roles.
