BENGALURU: The
Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru issued a
passenger advisory on Friday, urging travelers to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flight departures due to
heightened security measures.
"In view of the nationwide heightened security alert, enhanced screening measures are in place across all airports. Passengers are advised to arrive at least three hours prior to departure to allow for a smooth check-in, security and boarding experience," the advisory stated.
KIA also advised passengers to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest updates.
"We appreciate your understanding and cooperation at this time," the advisory added.
Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has enforced mandatory secondary ladder point checks for all flights, prohibited visitor entry into airport terminal buildings, and strengthened overall security measures.
