Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham recently shared his thoughts on Vantara, the world’s largest animal rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation centre. He appreciated the remarkable scale at which lives are being saved. Lauding the vision behind the initiative, he expressed that "
Jeev mein hi Shiv hai" — a belief that all living beings have a divine presence— a thought that aligns closely with the purpose of Vantara.
Spread across 3,500 acres in the heart of Gujarat, Vantara stands as a groundbreaking facility dedicated to the rescue, treatment, and conservation of animals from across the world. Officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 4th, the centre is a large-scale wildlife preservation effort led by Anant Ambani. With over 1.5 lakh rescued animals, the facility provides world-class care through its Advanced Multi-speciality Wildlife Hospital, Neonatal ICU, Specialised Intensive Care Units (ICU) for Wildlife, and a State-of-the-Art Neonatal Care Centre, ensuring that animals in need receive specialised attention.
While speaking about Vantara, he emphasised the meaning of the name itself - “
Vantara,” which translates to “
Star of the Forest”. He reflected on how the name beautifully encapsulates the centre’s purpose of providing hope and new life to rescued animals. He also noted how animals from both India and abroad, including endangered species, have found refuge at Vantara. The centre has also given a second chance at life to animals with unique conditions.
He praised Anant Ambani’s grounded and compassionate approach to wildlife conservation and wished him continued success in his mission. He acknowledged that Vantara's sheer scale and vision make it a truly unparalleled effort in animal care and conservation.
