When is Fat Tuesday 2025?
Fat Tuesday, also known as Mardi Gras, falls on the day before Ash Wednesday. The term ‘Mardi Gras’ is French for Fat Tuesday. This day marks the tradition of indulging in rich, fatty foods before the fasting season of Lent begins. This year, it falls on March 4.
When is Ash Wednesday 2025?
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a solemn period of 40 days (excluding Sundays) leading up to Easter. On this day, believers attend church services where ashes, made from the previous year’s Palm Sunday branches, are placed on their foreheads in the shape of a cross. The ashes serve as a symbol of repentance and mortality, reminding them of their need for forgiveness and spiritual renewal. This year, Ash Wednesday falls on March 5.
Lent 2025
With Ash Wednesday, the Lent begins. Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. This tradition signifies the 40 days that Jesus spent fasting. For Christians, this is a time for self-reflection, repentance, and acts of charity. Lent begins on March 5, and ends on April 17 this year.
When is Palm Sunday?
The Palm Sunday falls on the Sunday before Easter. Palm Sunday falls on April 13 this year. This marks the beginning of Holy Week, leading up to Easter.

When is Good Friday 2025?
Good Friday marks the crucifixion and death of Jesus. It is observed on the Friday before Easter and falls on April 18, this year.
