Formula 1 fans worldwide are still adjusting to the sight of Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari red, and his early days with the Scuderia have already been eventful. From electrifying fan interactions to a near-mishap at a live demonstration in Milan, Hamilton’s transition to Ferrari has been nothing short of a spectacle.

Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Adventure: A Near Mishap, A Grand Welcome, and a New Beginning

Despite not yet racing for Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton has already caused a stir in Italy, with his arrival sparking an overwhelming response from fans. Dubbed 'Hamilton Mania' by the Italian media, his induction into the legendary team has seen a surge of passionate supporters lining the streets of Maranello and Milan.
During a Ferrari demonstration event at Piazza Castello, Hamilton and teammate Charles Leclerc showcased their skills in front of an estimated 20,000 fans. Both drivers took to the streets of Milan in Ferrari’s iconic F1 cars—Hamilton in the SF21 from 2021 and Leclerc in the SF-90 from 2019—delivering a thrilling spectacle that included high-speed runs and donuts. The atmosphere was electric as fans welcomed their new star with roaring cheers.

However, the event almost turned into an embarrassing moment for the seven-time world champion. A widely shared clip on social media captured Hamilton standing atop his Ferrari, dressed in full race gear, waving to the adoring crowd. As he attempted to step down, he misjudged his footing, slipping off the tire of his car.
Fortunately, Hamilton’s legendary reflexes came to the rescue. Instead of tumbling down awkwardly, he managed to land on his feet with remarkable agility, merely taking a step forward. His quick reactions turned what could have been an embarrassing slip into an effortlessly stylish recovery. Team members rushed to check on him, but Hamilton’s confident stride reassured everyone that he was unscathed.

Interestingly, this wasn’t Hamilton’s first slip-up in recent weeks. During pre-season testing in Bahrain, he was seen losing his footing while stepping off a moving buggy in the pit lane. However, much like in Milan, he handled the situation with composure, showing that even the best drivers can have their off-track moments.
With the anticipation at an all-time high, Hamilton is gearing up for his Ferrari race debut at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix on March 16. Speaking about his new journey, Hamilton shared his excitement with BBC Sport, saying, "It has been a long winter but it's also been very short... I can't believe the race is already next week so already start to make my venture to Australia on Friday."

Reflecting on his move to Ferrari at this stage in his career, the 40-year-old Briton admitted, "I'm now embarking on something brand new for me and something I didn't think would happen when I turned 40. I’m still pinching myself. Next week when I get to the race, I'm going to be starting a grand prix in red - wow!"
