iPhone SE 4 may launch on February 19: Expected design, features and other changes coming with Apple’s most affordable iPhone

Apple is set to unveil new products at its Launch event on February 19. Teased by CEO Tim Cook, the Cupertino-based company is likely to unveil a redesigned iPhone SE. Sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter), Cook wrote “Get ready to meet the newest member of the family.” The launch promises the first major overhaul of Apple’s budget iPhone in years. While Apple has yet to confirm details, leaks and reports hint at significant updates.

The new iPhone SE is supposedly dubbed as iPhone SE 4. While Cook's announcement didn't clarify whether the event would be virtual or in-person, rumors suggest that the launch could follow a format similar to Apple's M4 Mac launches in October 2024, with press releases and promotional videos featured on Apple's website.

Apple iPhone SE 4 will likely feature an iPhone 14-reminiscent design, having a larger 6.1-inch OLED display and replace the home button's Touch ID with Face ID technology. It is expected to be powered by Apple's latest A18 chip, enabling support for the company's new Apple Intelligence features.
The fourth-generation model is also expected to bring in the Action button, adopt USB-C charging, following Apple's transition away from the Lightning port. While the new iPhone SE might maintain a single camera as its predecessor, it is rumored to be upgraded to a 48MP sensor, similar to that of iPhone 16 models.

While Cook has hinted at a single new “member,” the rumor mill has spilled speculation about other expected announcements for Apple's February 19 event. These include a possible MacBook Air refresh, featuring an M4 chip for improved power and efficiency, though it’s unclear if new MacBooks will launch then. Apple may also introduce a new iPad Air with an M4 chip, alongside entry-level iPad models with an upgraded A17 Pro chip. New accessories, including two Magic Keyboard models, are also rumored. Additionally, there’s speculation about new color options for the iPhone 16, though this is less likely.
