HYDERABAD: Tech major HCLTech is expanding its global delivery footprint with the opening of a new global delivery centre (GDC) in the heart of Hyderabad’s IT hub of Hitech City.
Spread over 3.2 lakh sq ft, the new facility will have the capacity to accommodate around 5,000 employees, HCLTech said on Tuesday.
The new facility takes HCLTech’s total capacity in Hyderabad to 8,500 seats across five development centres.
The new center will provide cutting-edge cloud, AI and digital transformation solutions to global clients across industries such as hi-tech, life sciences and financial services, the company said.
“With its world-class infrastructure and high-quality talent pool, Hyderabad has been a key location on HCLTech’s global network. The new center will bring cutting edge capabilities to our global client base and contribute to the local technology ecosystem,” said C Vijayakumar, CEO & managing director, HCLTech.
HCLTech, which has had a presence in Hyderabad since 2007, in June last year also entered into a strategic agreement with Japanese medtech player Olympus Corporation to set up the latter’s offshore R&D centre.
