Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav on Wednesday said Germany-based Inavia Aviation intends to make an initial investment of Rs 500 crore in the aviation sector in the state.
Yadav, who met the managing partner of the German company Michael Howell in Mantralaya on Wednesday, said the company intends to invest Rs 500 crore initially with a plan to scale it up to Rs 2,000 crore in a phased manner.
During the courtesy call, discussions were held regarding a proposal to establish a state-of-the-art maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) facility in Madhya Pradesh.
Howell expressed interest in initiating investment in Madhya Pradesh's aviation sector, with plans to recycle decommissioned aircraft and supply them to interested airlines.
The proposed MRO facility will include component manufacturing, CND checks, and engine repair services.
This investment is expected to boost the aviation infrastructure in the state, generate significant employment opportunities, and position Madhya Pradesh as a key hub for aviation services in the region, said an official press note issued after the meeting.
