Traffic restrictions in Bhopal ahead of Amit Shah’s visit today

Bhopal is bracing for traffic disruptions this Sunday, as Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit prompts route alterations from 11 AM to 5 PM. Passenger buses from neighboring cities will be restricted to Halalpura Bus Stand. Goods carriers and commercial vehicles face entry bans in key areas. Alternative routes are designated, and commuters are advised to utilize them.

BHOPAL: Union home minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Bhopal on Sunday for a series of events across the city. To ensure security and minimise public inconvenience, traffic arrangements will be altered between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Passenger buses from Indore, Ujjain, Rajgarh, and Biaora will be restricted to Halalpura Bus Stand, with no entry permitted into the city beyond that point during these hours. For buses from Rajgarh and Biaora, access to Halalpura will be granted via Mubarakpur Bypass Junction, Khajuri Bypass Junction, and Bairagarh Road.
Goods carriers, heavy vehicles, and commercial or permit-based vehicles will be barred from entering key areas such as Roshanpura Square, Polytechnic Square, Kamla Park, Retghat, VIP Road, Lalghati, and Gandhi Nagar Junction during the event window. Certain routes will also be restricted as necessary for VIP movement.
Alternative routes have been designated for smoother travel. Vehicles can use the route via Bharat Mata Square, Bhadbhada Square, Sakshi Dhaba Junction, Neelbad Junction, via Nathu Barkheda Road, Mungaliya Chhap, Khajuri Road, and Khajuri Bypass to bypass the restricted zones.
Additionally, movement from Roshanpura Square toward Polytechnic Square, Kamla Park, and VIP Road will also be restricted. Vehicles travelling from Bhopal city toward Sehore-Indore, Rajgarh-Biaora, and Raja Bhoj Airport can use routes through Prabhat Square, JK Road, Ratnagiri, Ayodhya Bypass, Bhanpur, Karond Square, New Jail, and Gandhi Nagar Junction. Additionally, those travelling towards Sehore and Indore should take the route via Bharat Mata Square, Bhadbhada Square, Sakshi Dhaba Junction, Neelbad, Ratibad, and Jhagariya.
Two-wheelers and four-wheelers travelling from Polytechnic Square to Roshanpura, Bharat Talkies, Railway Station, and the Bus Stand will be redirected via the Police Control Room and Lily Square toward Bharat Talkies.
Minibuses and low-floor buses heading from Roshanpura to Bharat Talkies will follow a diverted route through Apex Bank Junction, Link Road No. 1, Board Office Square, DB Mall, Press Complex, BSNL Junction, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Maida Mill Junction, Subhash Nagar ROB, and Prabhat Square via Bogda Pul.
