Jharsuguda:
Police on Wednesday arrested seven
persons, including three women, near Jharsuguda railway station for alleged possession of 53.25 kg of ganja valued at around Rs 6 lakh. Police identified the accused as
Irfan Khan(37), of Akola district in Maharashtra, Pankaj Banskar (21) of Katni, Madhya Pradesh, and Sanjay Laxmanrao Dhawane (58), Gobind Bijay Chandak (20), Nina Bijay Chandak (43), Asha Binod Dahe (49) and Rizwana Parvin (41), all of Akola.Police said the accused were allegedly planning to take and sell the contraband in Maharashtra. Police also seized four mobile phones, Rs 1,230, and several Aadhaar cards from the accused.All seven were produced in court following their arrest.
