Jewellery, clothes stolen from BJP leader’s home; maid booked

HISAR: Gold and silver jewellery, along with clothes and other items, were reportedly stolen from the residence of BJP leader Mandeep Malik. The leader’s wife, Anita Malik, has accused their domestic help of the theft.
According to Hisar police, a case has been registered at the Urban Estate Police Station against the maid, identified as Jyoti, a resident of Surya Nagar under section 306 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, based on a complaint by Anita Malik.
In her statement to the police, Anita Malik said that Jyoti was employed to clean the house. During her recent trip to Vrindavan, Jyoti continued to have access to the house in her absence. Upon returning, Anita discovered that several items were missing from a cupboard.
Among the stolen items were a silver anklet weighing 220 grams, a pair of gold earrings (tops) weighing four grams, clothes, and shoes. She immediately suspected Jyoti of committing the theft.
