Emraan Hashmi recently shared his thoughts on the positive changes happening in Srinagar after the revocation of Article 370. The actor, who has been filming in the region for his upcoming movie 'Ground Zero', expressed optimism about how the area is gradually returning to normalcy and becoming more welcoming for filmmakers and tourists.
During an interview with IANS, the 'Tiger 3' actor mentioned that the security situation has improved significantly since the restrictions were lifted. He shared that the region feels safer now, with fewer incidents and a more relaxed atmosphere.
He said, "People are no longer as scared. The incident rates have drastically reduced, and things have improved significantly."

Hashmi also mentioned that on the 18th, they will be conducting a special screening of 'Ground Zero' for BSF soldiers stationed in Srinagar.
"One more landmark thing we are doing - on the 18th, after almost 38 years, there will be a special screening to honour BSF soldiers and their officers. We will showcase the entire film Ground Zero to our soldiers. This, we believe, helps reinforce a sense of normalcy in the public eye. A lot of films have already been shot in Srinagar, but we now need to take that next step - to organize more screenings for our soldiers," Emraan said. She also mentioned that seeing the soldiers and the local people interested in cinema gave him hope that the region is healing and moving forward.

About the film

Directed by Tejas Deoskar, 'Ground Zero' is an action thriller in which Hashmi plays the role of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. The story revolves around a daring operation led by the character to eliminate Ghazi Baba, which has been recognized as one of the best BSF operations in the past five decades.
The film is set to release on April 25, 2025.
