Mohali: Armed robbers are sticking at will in Mohali. In the latest incident, a motorcycle was snatched at gunpoint near Mataur village in Mohali on Sunday evening.
The victim, Pargat Singh, a native of Faridkot currently residing in a rented accommodation in Kumbran village, was waiting for his sister near the Mataur-Chawla crossing road when two unidentified men approached him on a motorcycle. Pretending to seek directions, they engaged him in a conversation before one of them pulled out a pistol, pushed him off his motorcycle, and sped away.
Following the incident, an FIR was registered at Mataur police station under relevant sections of BNS.
DSP Prithivi Singh Chahal said, "Three police teams have been formed to trace the accused — two from the CIA Mohali and one from the Mataur police station. We have collected CCTV footage from nearby market areas and key escape routes to track down the culprits."
