Who is Zikra? 'Lady Don' behind Seelampur teen’s murder was grooming gangs of minors
NEW DELHI: Zikra, a self-proclaimed 'Lady Don' and a key figure in the brutal murder of 17-year-old Kunal on April 17, has a history of criminal involvement and was grooming a gang of minors for illegal activities.
According to police sources, Zikra previously worked as a bouncer for the wife of notorious gangster Hashim Baba. She was recently arrested for posting a video on social media in which she was seen brandishing a pistol.
A mother of a two-year-old child, Zikra reportedly does not live with her husband.
Investigators allege she was assembling a group of eight to ten teenage boys, training them for criminal acts. Her obsession with firearms was well known, with several social media posts showing her posing with guns. She had earlier been arrested under the Arms Act for similar offences.
Local residents claimed that Zikra and her gang had instilled fear in the neighbourhood, frequently flashing weapons and issuing threats.
Police have so far apprehended nine individuals, including two minors, in connection with Kunal’s murder.
Among those apprehended is 18-year-old Sahil, identified as the main accused. Authorities stated that some of the suspects were planning to escape to Nepal via Uttarakhand, but were caught before they could flee.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, with police probing deeper into the network and influence Zikra held in the area.
