15-year-old boy found dead near SIDCUL area in Uttarakhand's Rudrapur

RUDRAPUR: A 15-year-old boy was found dead in a field near the SIDCUL industrial area in Udham Singh Nagar district headquarters, Rudrapur, on Tuesday afternoon.

The boy, studying in class 7, had left for school in the morning, but "never made it to class". This is the second such incident in Rudrapur in recent days.
Police said the boy's father Devdutt Gangwar, who works at a company in SIDCUL, dropped his son outside the school on a bicycle. Hours later, the boy's body was found in an isolated area.
"It appears the child was strangled to death. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem," said SP (crime) Niharika Tomar.
Last week, another 15-year-old boy was killed allegedly by two teenagers over a brief scuffle.
