NEW DELHI: Air travel to and from the Delhi airport were impacted on Thursday as well due to the changing airspace conditions. Seventy-nine domestic and 11 international flights were cancelled.According to FlightRadar24, over 200 flights were delayed.
An airport official said of the 79 cancelled domestic flights between 8 am and 2 pm, 46 were departures and 33 arrivals. Out of the 11 international flights, six were arrivals and five departures.
Fajr Ali, a student from Srinagar whose flight to Delhi on May 9 was cancelled, urged on X for an urgent solution. "I was scheduled to appear for the JMI entrance exam on May 10, and now I'm left stranded, helpless, and in complete distress.
Travelling alone by road is not safe, especially for young girls," said Ali.
Burari MLA Sanjeev Kumar's flight to Darbhanga was just of one-and-a-half hours, but it became an ordeal. "It was scheduled to depart at 10.30 am. I boarded the flight at 10.15 am and was made to wait in the aircraft for over three hours," Kumar said. His flight reached Darbhanga at 3.46 pm.
Delhi Airport said, "All operations across Delhi Airport's terminals and its four runways are proceeding as usual. However, changing airspace conditions have impacted some flights. Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for the updated flight information."
