Bengaluru CEO Suchana Seth, under trial for son’s murder, assaults lady constable at Colvale jail in Goa

Suchana Seth, accused of murdering her son in Goa, has been further charged with assaulting a female police constable in Colvale Central Jail. The incident occurred when Seth allegedly took a register without permission and then physically attacked the officer, causing injuries.

PANAJI: Goa police on Tuesday registered an FIR against Suchana Seth for allegedly assaulting a lady police constable (LPC) in Colvale Central Jail on Tuesday. The Bengaluru-based data scientist and startup founder allegedly killed her four-year-old son in Candolim in 2024.
Police said that the LPC attached to the Central Jail Colvale reported that on Monday, at 11.30pm, Shet, who is an under-trial prisoner, took the inward register of the women's prisoner block without permission from the complainant, who was performing her lawful duty.
Police stated that when Shet was questioned by the LPC, Shet abused the complainant with filthy words and further pushed and assaulted her with kicks and pulled her hair, thereby causing her bodily injuries. while discharging her lawful duty at Central Jail Colvale.
Shet allegedly murdered her son on Jan 7, 2024, and hired a taxi to travel to Bengaluru, Karnataka, with the boy’s body stuffed in a bag. She was arrested before she reached her destination.
Goa police filed a 640-page chargesheet against Seth in connection with the murder before the children’s court. Police recorded the statements of 59 witnesses. Seth is currently lodged in judicial custody.
Seth checked in with her son on Jan 6, 2024, in a hotel. Subsequently, housekeeping staff found bloodstains in the room and alerted the police.
