Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday said that unlike the previous BRS govt, which delayed the full implementation of the crop loan waiver for six years, the Congress govt fulfilled the promise within just three months in its first year in power.
Responding to BRS member Palla Rajeshwar Reddy's allegations about the crop loan waiver during the motion of thanks to the governor's address in the assembly, Bhatti pointed out that in the Janagaon constituency, represented by Palla, the previous BRS govt waived loans worth Rs 124 crore during its five-year tenure from 2018, whereas the Congress govt waived Rs 263 crore in just three months.
"In Gajwel constituency represented by former CM KCR, the BRS govt waived Rs 104 crore during its tenure, but the Congress govt waived Rs 237 crore. In Siddipet, the BRS govt waived Rs 96 crore from 2018 over a period of five years, while the Congress govt waived Rs 177 crore in farm loans in Siddipet in three months," he said.
He further stated that while the BRS govt waived Rs 101 crore in Sircilla, represented by KT Rama Rao, the Congress govt waived Rs 175 crore within three months. The deputy CM said that the data related to farmers' loan waivers and Rythu Bharosa will be displayed even in the legislative assembly premises.
Information on every welfare scheme along with statistics will be given to MLAs. Village-wise information is already displayed on the flexis. Not only details about the farmers' loan waiver scheme, but information will also be shared about the bonus given on the fine variety of paddy, free RTC bus travel for women, and free power given up to 200 units, he said.
Asserting that the govt did not resort to mere propaganda like BRS leaders without doing the work, Bhatti pointed out that the Congress govt appointed vice-chancellors to 12 universities that were totally neglected during the tenure of the former BRS govt.
"For the first time, a Dalit VC was appointed in 100 years in Osmania University. Did you (BRS members) ever visit women's university in the heart of the city? The Congress govt not only named it after the great leader Chakali Ilamma, but also inspected the heritage buildings, and released Rs 15 crore for repairs. The govt also issued orders for the construction of buildings at a cost of Rs 540 crore," he said.
