HYDERABAD: Seven persons including a Wipro Employee were arrested for allegedly cheating several unemployed youth by issuing fake job offer letters of Wipro in exchange of money. These cons went to the extent of conducting mock interviews inside the Wipro campus in Gurgaon, to make the victims believe that it is genuine.
Cyberabad police in a press release said that Vipin Kumar, a resident of Noida, Sanoo Singh, a M Tech Student at Apex Engineering College, Sandeep Kumar Das, a Wipro employee in Gurgoan were arrested by a team of policemen, who went to Noida. Based on the information given by the accused, four more persons from various parts of Hyderabad, including Shaik Bibi Hajra, Bashyam Anil Kumar, Kakarlamudi Pramod Kumar were taken into custody. Police said that during the investigation they came to know that it was Shaik Bibi Hajra alias Zoya Khan, a resident of Tolichowki was the kingpin in the fraud. Zoya Khan gathers details of job aspirants from various job portals and by promised them to provide jobs in prominent MNCs. Zoya Khan shares the details of interested candidates to his associates Mohit Singh and Ajay, who in turn informs Sandeep, an employee in Wipro.
Police said that Sandeep will take the aspiring candidates inside the Gurgoan Wipro campus and hold a fake interview and issues fake offer letters. Sandeep gets 50% share while the remaining amount would be deposited in Zoya Khan’s bank account. Till now, at least 10 fake offer letters were issued by collecting Rs 15 lakhs from the gullible youth.
