Khargone EMRS principal suspended after viral video of fight with librarian
Khargone: The principal of EMRS Khargone, who was removed by local authorities after a video showed her fighting with a teacher, was suspended on Monday by the central govt.
District collector Bhavya Mittal said that there was an unfortunate incident of assault between the principal and the librarian on the school premises. State govt and National Education Society for Tribal Students, an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India, were also informed about some other issues by sending a report, she said.
Mittal said that acting on the enquiry report and recommendation, Ajit Kumar Srivastava, commissioner of NESTS, New Delhi, suspended Praveen Dahiya, principal of Eklavya Adarsh Awasiya Vidyalaya, with immediate effect.
The collector said that a recommendation has been sent to state govt to suspend the librarian, Madhurani, as well.
Superintendent of police Dharmaraj Meena said that the principal and the teacher had filed a complaint application against each other at Mengaon police station. Statements are being taken after obtaining the medical reports of both for further action, he said.
There was a fight between the principal and the librarian over division of work, and the video of this fight went viral on social media. After this, the district collector removed both of them and attached them to the office of the assistant commissioner, Janjatiya Karya Khargone.
A day before this incident, district collector Bhavya Mittal and other officials had visited the school.
