Pahalgam terror attack: Indian Air Force corporal from Arunachal Pradesh among victims

An Indian Air Force Corporal, Tage Hailyang from Arunachal Pradesh, tragically died in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed deep sorrow, noting Hailyang was visiting with his wife, who survived.

NEW DELHI: An Indian Air Force Corporal from Arunachal Pradesh, Tage Hailyang, was among the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Chief minister Pema Khandu stated that Corporal Hailyang had been visiting the area with his wife.
Intelligence sources confirmed that Corporal Hailyang was stationed at the Indian Air Force installation in Srinagar.
"Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Corporal Tage Hailyang of the Indian Air Force, a brave son of Arunachal Pradesh who hailed from Tajang village in Lower Subansiri. While visiting Pahalgam with his wife, his life was cruelly taken in a senseless act of terror," Khandu wrote on 'X'.

The chief minister acknowledged the officer's dedicated service to the nation, emphasising that his sudden demise represents a significant loss for both his family and the country at large.

"Our thoughts are with his loved ones, especially his wife who survived this horrific incident. May they find strength and solace in this unimaginable time of grief. We will always remember Corporal Hailyang for his service and sacrifice," he said.
The terrorist incident occurred at a popular tourist destination in Pahalgam, south Kashmir on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of at least 26 individuals, predominantly tourists, whilst leaving numerous others wounded.
At least 28 tourists were killed and numerous others injured in a devastating terrorist assault on Tuesday afternoon at Baisaran Meadow, a scenic tourist destination near the resort town of Pahalgam. This incident marks the most severe terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir since the revocation of Article 370 in 2019.
