BNA workshop on Ahilyabai Holkar from Apr 20
Lucknow: A 30-day theatre workshop to prepare a play in memory of Ahilyabai Holkar will be conducted at Bhartendu Natya Academy (BNA) from April 20.
Open to all on a first-come, first-served basis, the workshop will have 35 seats. Interested participants can apply directly at BNA.
Ahilyabai Holkar (1725–1795) was an influential Maratha ruler of the Malwa region, celebrated for her visionary leadership, administrative acumen, and dedication to public welfare. She is especially known for building temples and ghats across India.
Director, BNA, Bipin Kumar said, "The workshop will be free of cost. The play prepared during the workshop will later be staged in theatre."
Meanwhile, culture and tourism minister Jaiveer Singh announced that similar workshops will also be organised in all the districts of the state.
