Scattered showers continued over Telangana for the third consecutive day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted with light to moderate rainfall weather conditions for Thursday. “A thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at isolated places in several districts,” an IMD official said.
These include Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar and Nagarkurnool.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials of the concerned districts to conduct relief work with full promptness in view of rain, hailstorm, storm and lightning. He said that the officials should visit the area, keep an eye on the relief work, and provide help to the affected people. The chief minister has also instructed that the damage to the crops should be assessed, and a report should be made available to the government so that further action can be taken in this regard: CMO

IMD predicts partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers in Lucknow today.

Delhi recorded its warmest April night in three years with a minimum of 25.6°C, while maximum temperatures stayed above 40°C at multiple stations. Warm night conditions persisted, and heatwave criteria were met in several areas. Relief is expected with light rain and gusty winds predicted over the next two days.

Mumbai faced intense heat and humidity, peaking at 36.2°C, causing roads near BMC HQ to appear melted. Jalgaon saw the state’s highest at 42.5°C. IMD issued a yellow alert, warning of heat-related health risks, especially for vulnerable groups. Dry easterly winds were responsible for the sudden temperature surge.

Bhopal reported 41°C maximum and 24.8°C minimum temperatures, both significantly above normal. IMD issued warnings for heatwaves, warm nights, and thunderstorms across various districts. Multiple weather systems, including western disturbances and upper air circulations, are influencing regional conditions. Partly cloudy skies and gusty winds are expected to continue.

IMD has issued a heatwave warning for April 14 and 15 in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana. Maximum temperatures ranged from 38–42°C in these regions, exceeding normal levels by 4–7°C. While a western disturbance may offer some respite, the next heatwave phase is projected to begin by mid-April.

With temperatures hitting 43.2°C in Ahmedabad and a high of 45.6°C in Kandla, the heatwave led to discomfort and practical challenges. Ride-share prices surged as people avoided stepping out. Minimum temperatures also rose significantly, intensifying nighttime discomfort. Rajkot followed closely behind Kandla, marking another hotspot in the region.
