Lucknow: A romantic comedy about a divorced Muslim couple was staged in the play Phir Se Shaadi, marking the second performance in the 7th season of Repertwahr Weekends, jointly organised by the UP culture department and the Repertwahr Foundation at the UP Sangeet Natak Akademi on Sunday.
The play opened with a qawwali in which the singers and cast performed ‘Mere Allah Yeh Kaisa Gazab Ho Gaya, Husn Aur Ishq Ka Jo Milan Ho Gaya'. Directed by Imran Rasheed, the play revolves around a Muslim couple,
Aiman and Sheeba, who fall in love, get married, and eventually divorce. After their separation, they realise they are still in love and wish to remarry.
Upon this realisation, they approach Prof Kamal, inform him of their situation, and request his help in convincing both families.
The main characters in the play were played by director Imran Rasheed, Yasir Khan, Rukhsar Rehman, Jyoti Kapoor, Gaurav Dakshita, and Varun Kumar.
