NASHIK: At least 25 people visiting Anjaneri Hills in Trimbakeshwar taluka of Nashik district on the occasion of
Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday were injured in a bee attack.
One person received more than 200 stings and was taken to the civil hospital for further treatment.
Since early morning, hundreds of devotees visited the Hanuman temple on Anjaneri Hill, which is known as the birthplace of Hanuman.
According to Ashish Sonawane, a medical officer of Anjaneri Primary Health Centre, "Hundreds of people started coming to the temple since early morning. It was around 8 am when the doctors received a call for help. We got five people through an ambulance to the hospital and treated them."
"One patient received over 200 stings. His condition was a bit serious and hence, he was shifted to the civil hospital for further treatment. We have also appointed two medicos at the base of Anjaneri Hill who are providing treatment to the people who may have suffered the stings," the official said.
