Actress
Renu Desai recently voiced her frustration over the media’s continued fixation on her personal life, particularly her relationship status, following her appearance on a podcast where she discussed having a second partner after her divorce from
Pawan Kalyan. She took to her Instagram stories to express disappointment over the selective attention given to her comments about a possible second marriage, rather than the broader themes she explored.
Renu called out the media for prioritising sensationalism. “I realised that media people are more interested in my second marriage topic than all the important topics (religion, relationships, social media influences, etc.) that I spoke about in my recent podcast for over an hour… which shows and proves again what we, as an audience, are giving priority to…” she noted.

The former actress emphasised that her remarks on her past marriage to
Pawan Kalyan were well within her rights to share, reiterating that such experiences were deeply personal and impactful. She also questioned the relevance of the constant scrutiny over her remarriage plans, especially when she herself remains uncertain about them. “So I request you to please shift your attention from a 44-year-old woman’s remarriage (which she herself is not sure about at this point in time) and concentrate on topics like tariff sanctions, women's safety, economic growth, climate change, etc.” she appealed.
Addressing ongoing discussions about her divorce, she firmly stated, “P.S. – I can talk about my marriage a hundred times because it definitely affects my life and my close family! Please don’t let your education and journalism experience be used to focus on some grown-up lady’s second marriage, as it doesn’t affect society or law and order.”
Renu Desai was previously married to actor and current Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The pair starred together in the films Badri and Johnny. They have two children, Akira Nandan and
Aadhya, and divorced in 2012. Pawan later married Anna Lezhneva, with whom he has two children.
