Huge response to walk-in tour of Nashik police commissioner’s office on first day
Nashik: The walk-in tour of the police commissioner's office received a huge response on its first day, Tuesday, with many college students turning up for the event. They were shown different departments of the commissionerate.
Nashik police commissioner Sandeep Karnik and municipal chief Manisha Khatri, who happened to be at the CP office, also interacted with the students. The visiting students were shown the offices of the crime branch, economic offences wing, character and passport verification branch, control room, foreigners registration department, technical analysis wing, administrative department, ‘Dial 112' unit, Kumbh Mela cell, etc. The students were shown the workings of different departments.
During the interaction with the young visitors, CP Karnik and NMC chief Khatri said citizens should also be aware of the police administration to make the police department more efficient. They told the young visitors that residents of Nashik, especially young people, should actively participate in supporting the police and civic administration during the Kumbh Mela.
The next tour of the CP office will be on April 8. Police officials appealed to college students and members of the public to be present at the reception cell of the CP office at noon and take advantage of the unique police-citizen connect initiative.
Meanwhile, senior officers of the police commissionerate will also dedicate two hours every day to meet residents in their office to interact with them. If citizens have any grievances, they can share them with the officers for resolution. Citizens can meet the commissioner of police daily on working days between 11am and 1pm, and between 10.30am and 1.30pm on Tuesdays.
Similarly, officers of the rank of DCPs, ACPs, and senior inspectors of the police stations will meet citizens between 4pm and 6pm on all working days and between 10.30am and 1.30pm on Tuesdays.
